On July 14, Moscow celebrated the Day of Moscow Transport that was established last year. More than 100 thousand people took part in the city festival, which was held at VDNH, Park Pobedy and Sokolniki Park.
There were organized free bus trips to the bus and tram depots, to the depot of Aeroexpress and to the Situation Centre, which hosted over 300 visitors. Public technical visits showed how rolling stock is prepared for work on the line, how traffic lights are controlled, how electric trains are repaired.
One of the main points of the festival was VDNH, where were exhibited both urban transport legendary retro models and the latest PT developments. The festival was followed by extreme show, show of aerobatic group of Moscow Department of the Traffic Police, freestyle moto show and other.
Park Pobedy on Poklonnaya hill held a festive concert with rollers costume show and bike performance.
Sokolniki Park opened a driving school for young Muscovites who studied traffic rules, passed the "exam" and received children's driving licenses, working out practical skills on a safe track with radio-controlled cars, bicycles and scooters.
The festival was accompanied by musicians from the project "Music in Metro". The city parks "Muzeon", "Sokolniki" and "Krasnaya Presnya" were hosting photo exhibitions on transport theme.
Moscow authorities consider the day of Moscow Transport not only as a holiday for the employees of the Transport complex, but also for passengers. More than 100 thousand people took part in the festive events.
